Spike In License To Carry Firearms Applications In Two Counties After Paris Attacks

PHILADELPHIA (CBS) --  In the days following the Paris attacks, there's been a jump in applications to carry firearms in at least two suburban counties.
Chester County Sheriff Carolyn Welsh told CBS 3's Walt Hunter that her office this week received double the number of applications- 200 compared to 100.
The Sheriff told Hunter she believes it's a matter of people "feeling vulnerable" and seeking weapons for protection.
In Bucks County, Sheriff "Duke" Donnelly says he's also seen an increase in permit-to-carry applications from 10 this week last year to 20 this week.
Bob Bonnett, General Manager of Targetmaster Indoor Shooting Range shop in Chadds Ford, also says he's noticed a "slight increase' in purchases during, what he explained, is a normally busy time of year for weapons sales.
While there have been spikes in weapons purchases following prior mass shootings, it remains to be seen if the increased interest in weapons will continue, a sign of just how concerned people are.
