Seth Joyner: 'Would Love Opportunity' To Coach Eagles' Linebackers
PHILADELPHIA (CBS) -- The Eagles could sure use Seth Joyner's intensity.
In fact, as the Eagles' participate in their second coaching search in just three years, plenty of 94WIP callers and fans on Twitter have mentioned Joyner as a potential linebacker's coach.
On Thursday, the former three-time Pro Bowl Philadelphia Eagles linebacker admitted he would love the opportunity.
"I'm always open to conversation," Joyner told Angelo Cataldi and the 94WIP Morning Show when asked about coaching in the NFL. "I want to see what you want to do, how you want to do it, what do you want me to do, what my role is gonna be. If I'm an assistant linebackers coach, what latitude I have.

"It's just gotta be the right situation and when I look at the situation in Philadelphia," Joyner continued, "I would love to have the opportunity in some capacity to come in and work with those guys. Because when I look at a Mychal Kendricks, when I look at it a Kiko Alonso, when I look at a Jordan Hicks -- even DeMeco [Ryans]. These guys have tremendous physical skills and the physical talents. When I look at Mychal Kendricks, I wish I had his speed. Are you kidding me? I mean the guy can just flat out fly. He's got aggression, he's just gotta learn how and when to use it."
Joyner even went so far to explain how he would help the Eagles' young, talented linebackers.
"They gotta learn how to play the game with their eyes, it's not just a physical game," Joyner explained. "They gotta learn how to think through the game, they gotta learn see things ahead of time and that comes with coaching. That comes with film study, that comes with basic fundamentals that a lot of them don't have and basic technique that they don't have. I just think that I can make them a much better group of linebackers, you know, if I just had a little bit of time to work with. So I'd be open to it."
