Report: Twitter May Expand 140-Character Limit With New Product
Twitter co-founder Biz Stone has said "constraints breed creativity" but the company could be planning to go beyond its 140-character limit.
Tech blog Re/code reports the social network is working on "a new product" that will allow users to compose and share longer tweets.
Increasing the limit has been a topic of discussion for years but it's unclear how this product will work.
Twitter recently updated the "retweet with comment" feature and dropped the 140-character limit on Direct Messages.
As with all early products, there's a chance the long-form feature may never make it to consumers.
