Political Pundits: Trump Victory Perilous For Republicans
PHILADELPHIA (CBS) - Political pundits Colin Hanna and Michael Bronstein weighed in on Donald Trump's victory in the Republican party's South Carolina presidential primary and Hillary Clinton's win in the Democratic Nevada caucus with Chris Stigall on Talk Radio 1210 WPHT.
Hanna, the President of Let Freedom Ring, said that, following Jeb Bush's decision to leave the race, the Republicans need to coalesce around another candidate soon if they are going to stop Donald Trump.
"Who is going to provide the leadership vision to consolidate, not only Jeb's supporters but the entire conservative movement and the entire Republican party around a single choice. Right now we're headed for a train wreck."
Bronstein, from Bronstein and Weaver, a political consulting firm, expressed optimism at Hillary Clinton's chances of winning the Presidency if the Republicans do settle on the New York billionaire.
"If Trump becomes the nominee, all bets are off. This is not going to be a race that's going to be held in a vacuum. This is going to be Hillary Clinton versus somebody else. If that somebody else is Donald Trump, that poses a really tough problem for the Republican party."
