Police Seek To Reunite Unidentified Elderly Woman With Her Family

PHILADELPHIA (CBS) -- Philadelphia Police are asking the public's help in identifying an elderly woman found wandering towards Pennypack Park overnight without a coat on.

Authorities say officers received a call just before 2 a.m. Monday to investigate a person on the 8700 block of Pine Road. Arriving officers saw a woman walking toward Pennypack Park without a coat on. The officers approached the woman to talk to her but they say she was uncooperative and appeared to be confused. They were not able to obtain any identification.

Police describe the woman as six feet tall, weighing approximately 175 pounds with gray hair. They believe she is in her late 60s or early 70s and was found wearing a blue sweatshirt, blue scrub pants and white sneakers. She was taken to Jeanes Hospital for a medical evaluation.

Police are looking to reunite the woman with her family. Anyone with information on her identity is being asked to call Northeast Detective Division at 215-686-3153 or call 911.
