Police Seek Public's Help After Mother, Son Found Shot Dead In Lawncrest

By Molly Daly

PHILADELPHIA (CBS) -- Philadelphia police believe the person who killed a mother and son Sunday in the city's Lawncrest section wasn't a stranger.

"It appears it was personal -- it appears it was someone that they knew. They had a dog inside that didn't attack, didn't bark, so we believe it was someone that was known to the mother and/or the son," says Homicide Captain James Clark.

According to Capt. Clark, 22-year-old Richard Muller and his 49-year-old mother Donna were found upstairs in the house in the 300 block of Stevens Street, both shot execution-style in the back of the head (See Previous Story).

"We believe this double homicide was committed between the time frame on Sunday of 10:30 a.m. and 3 p.m. So we're asking for the public's help," says Capt. Clark.

They particularly want to talk to neighbors, who may have seen anyone or any activity on the block. They're asked to call Homicide at 215-686-3334.
