Police Chase Ends When Vehicle Flips Over Schuylkill River Bridge
NORTH COVENTRY TOWNSHIP, Pa., (CBS)— Around 1 p.m. on Wednesday police in Coventry Township began pursuing a male, along route 422, who allegedly took off when officers tried to pull him over.
The fleeing vehicle allegedly careened through a construction site before nearly hitting a worker and flipping off the Schuylkill River Bridge.
The chase ended when the vehicle plunged about 40 feet to the ground, landing on the roof of the car. The driver was trapped inside as crews worked to remove him from the vehicle.
After the driver was removed, crews transferred him to the nearest hospital in critical condition. No other injuries were reported.
