Philadelphia Volunteers Remember 8 Firefighters Killed In Gulf Refinery Fire 45 Years Ago

PHILADELPHIA (CBS) -- Monday at Fireman's Hall in Philadelphia, members of the Second Alarmers volunteer organization placed flowers in remembrance of those lost 45 years ago today.
Eight firefighters were killed and 13 were injured battling the Gulf Refinery fire on Aug. 17, 1975.
The Gulf Refinery was at the same site as the now-defunct PES Refinery in South Philadelphia.
