Philadelphia Eagles Have Their Apple Watch App Ready To Go
By KYW tech editor Ian Bush
PHILADELPHIA (CBS) -- The Apple Watch is expected to begin landing on wrists this Friday, when the estimated two million pre-orders begin arriving at customers.
And Eagles fans will have one of the first apps designed for the brand-new device.
Touch the Eagles logo on your Apple Watch, says the team's marketing boss, Anne Gordon, "and it'll immediately pull up a screen that says 'Players, Bios, Drafts.' "
Gordon says the app's first big game is next week's NFL Draft.
"(When) we pick a player, that's going to pop up on their watch or on their iPhone, and they'll get player profiles and instant analysis as soon as it happens," she explains.
And you can use your Apple Watch to display your electronic ticket for access to the Linc.
But even at home, Gordon notes, "You'll get breaking news, alerts, injuries, who's playing, what's happening on the field, instant interviews, and photographs as the game is happening."
So, will we see Tim Tebow with one? Do any of the players have an Apple Watch?
"Not yet, but they're actually a very good marketplace," says Gordon, "so I'm sure Apple's interested in having them strap one on. But we'll wait and see."
