Philadelphia Buildings Go Blue For World Autism Awareness Day

PHILADELPHIA (CBS) – April 2nd is World Autism Awareness Day, and buildings across Philadelphia and the world are lit up in blue.

CBS3 is a proud sponsor of autism events around Philadelphia, and the CBS3 Morning Team was dressed in blue on Thursday to show their support.

According to Autism Speaks, the day of awareness was established back in 2007 and aims to shed light on the disorder, which affects millions worldwide.

Autism organizations around the world plan to celebrate the day with unique fundraising and awareness-raising events.

People are also encouraged to use the hashtag #LIUB on social media to help bring awareness to the cause.
