PSPCA offering $10,000 reward for 2 dogs shot in Kingsessing
PHILADELPHIA (CBS) -- Two dogs were shot in the city's Kingsessing neighborhood last week. One was found dead and the other is in care at the Pennsylvania SPCA.
Still recovering from an amputation surgery, Alexia is adjusting to life on three legs. The gentle pitbull terrier was found in Philadelphia's Kingsessing neighborhood suffering gunshot wounds to her shoulder and muzzle.
According to the PSPCA, initial reports indicated Alexia was hit by a car.
"She was very dull, she'd lost a lot of blood and we actually sent her directly to emergency care so that she could receive immediate attention," Maddie Bernstein, PSPCA said.
Two days later on March 29, another pitbull was found shot dead and stuffed in a trash bag on Allman Street, just a mile from where Alexia was shot.

The PSPCA believes the two cases may be connected.
"I definitely think there's a possibility just due to the close proximity and timing and location of the dogs," Bernstein said.
"If there is a person or multiple people inflicting serious injuries or fatal injuries on animals in the city of Philadelphia we absolutely want to identify that person," Bernstein said.
The owners of either dogs haven't come forward.
As for Alexia, this happy girl is up for adoption and is currently in stable condition.
PSPCA says an anonymous donor is providing a $10,000 reward for any information leading to the arrest and conviction of the person responsible for viciously attacking both dogs.
