Pat Toomey Defends Small Businesses At Northeast Philly Campaign Stop
PHILADELPHIA (CBS) -- Republican U.S. Senator Pat Toomey went shopping for votes Tuesday afternoon, with a campaign stop at a local food market.
Standing in front of the beverage coolers at Keller's Food Market on Verree Road, Pat Toomey told reporters that his campaign would help small businesses such as this one.
"I have consistently fought for lower burdens, lower taxes and less regulation," he said.
On Tuesday he painted his opponent, Katie Mcginty as a tax-and-spend Democrat.
"Katie McGinty has a record of doing the exact opposite, pushing very hard to raise taxes on middle class families and small businesses."
As for whether he would support Donald Trump for president, Toomey said he's still waiting to be persuaded.
When told that McGinty was linking him with Donald Trump, Toomey stayed on message.
"Katie McGinty can't defend her record of pushing for higher taxes, more regulation, more job destruction. And so she's trying to change the subject."
