Opera Philadelphia Presents 'Don Carlo'
By RJ McKay
PHILADELPHIA (CBS) – Opera Philadelphia presents "Don Carlo," starting April 24th at the Academy of Music.
Dimitri Pittas, who plays Don Carlo, shared more information on the production.
"Political power, religious power and oppression, romance, love – almost a teenager's world full of confusion. It really is everything. It's everything that the opera is supposed to be about. Murder, incest – it's all there," Pittas said.
Pittas also discussed how he approached the part of Don Carlo.
"There are some ways that we can tell the story in, by relationships of the characters on stage. And so those are the moments when I try to bring myself out to show Dimitri within Don Carlo," he explained.
