New Music Tuesday: Muse, Of Monsters And Men Return
By Michael Cerio
Congratulations, you made it through Monday. As your reward, there's a ton of new music for you to celebrate with today. This week sees new efforts from arena rockers Muse, unearthed gems from The Rolling Stones, sandwich loving, and more.
Muse – Drones
Muse returns this week, and they're militant. On Drones, Matthew Bellamy and company shred through songs like "Defector" and "Revolt." There's even a Drill Sergeant along the way to drive the point home. There's a war coming and Muse is reloaded…with guitars.
Of Monsters And Men – Beneath The Skin
We finally get a follow-up from Icelandic folk band Of Monsters And Men today. Can you believe it was 2011 when we first heard "Little Talks?" Now, they're back with a new batch of layered, slightly darker songs ready for your bonfire.
Tamia – Love Life
Tamia's gone major, again. The Grammy Nominated R&B singer heads to Def Jam for Love Life. She slinks her way through an album worth of smooth jams including "Sandwich And A Soda." This has to be the sexiest song ever involving a sandwich and a soda. And, it's likely about her husband Grant Hill, so good for him.
The Rolling Stones – Sticky Fingers (Super Deluxe)
The Stones take it back to 1971 with a Super Deluxe edition of Sticky Fingers. Here you'll find the remastered album from 2009 along with an alternate version of "Can You Hear Me Knocking", an acoustic take on "Wild Horses," and Eric Clapton lending licks to "Brown Sugar." Because it's not just deluxe, but super deluxe, you also get a couple live tracks from The Roundhouse back in '71.
Also out this week, Franz Ferdinand and Sparks team up to make supergroup FFS, Tove Styrke grinds through her new album Kiddo, and Montgomery Gentry returns with Folks Like Us. See, wasn't Monday worth it?
