New Bill Bans Use Of So-Called 'Less Lethal' Munitions In Philadelphia Following George Floyd Protests

PHILADELPHIA (CBS) -- Philadelphia City Councilwoman Helen Gym is introducing a measure to ban the use of so-called "less lethal" munitions. The bill is in response to demonstrations this summer following the death of George Floyd and the response by police.

The ban would apply to munitions like tear gas, which was used on protesters on the Vine Street Expressway.

Rubber bullets and pepper spray could also be included.
