Mural To Honor Pope's Philadelphia Visit To Be Dedicated Monday

PHILADELPHIA (CBS) -- Just when you thought the papal visit was over and done with, there is one more final touch -- the mural Pope Francis signed will hold its dedication ceremony on Monday morning in Philadelphia.

"We have a final present before you leave us this evening," Archbishop Charles Chaput told the pope during the World Meeting of Families in September. "Philadelphia is the city of murals, and we couldn't find a better way to commemorate your visit than with a mural."

The art piece, called 'Faith and Family in the 21st Century,' is more than 4,200 square feet and will span across three sides of the Saint Malachy school building, located at 11th and Thompson Streets.

More than 2,700 people helped to paint the mural, with the final brush stroke courtesy of Pope Francis himself.

The piece is expected to receive the Guinness World Record for Most Contributions to a Painting by Numbers.
