By Phran Novelli

PHILADELPHIA (CBS) - 'Tis the plant sale season, so toss a tarp in your car and head to Chestnut Hill for the Morris Arboretum plant sale this weekend.

Friday, May 9 from 10am – 7pm is the Members' Preview – but you can join on the spot to get first pick of the plants, plus a 10% discount. Saturday from 10 am to 3pm, the sale opens to everyone.

The sale is held at the Horticulture Center at Bloomfield Farm, across the street from the Arboretum's public garden and it includes hard-to-find plants that are locally-grown, so they're ready to thrive around here.

This year their special focus is on plants to attract pretty pollinators including plants that feed the marvelous Monarchs and other butterflies, as well as all kinds of trees and shrubs specifically selected for the beautiful birds they bring to your yard.

Plus you'll find plenty of vegetable plants including heirloom and other tomatoes, eggplants and peppers, as well as all kinds of herbs that taste great to you and welcome pollinators too.

Along with Morris staff and volunteers, native plant experts from Natural Lands Trust will be on hand to answer questions and help you choose the best native plants for your landscape.
