More Snow Expected; But Nothing We Can't Handle

PHILADELPHIA (CBS) -- Of all the weather 'events' this troublesome winter, the ones this weekend will be the tamest. A few little disturbances in the atmosphere can brush by the area bringing a nuisance amount of snow.

First up comes Saturday afternoon, with a slight chance of maybe a half an inch of snow to parts of the area. Most computer model guidance suggests that no part of the area gets anything at all as we head into tonight. However, remember that even a minor amount of precipitation on a frozen surface can be slick, so always take it easy on the gas pedal.

Sunday, a brief lull before a chance of afternoon and evening snow showers, maybe accumulating from one to 3 inches. That amount we can do in our sleep…which might be when some of it occurs on into early Monday. Several of the computer models agree that it will be gone early on Monday.

The next feature upcoming will be bitterly cold temperatures for late Monday and all day Tuesday and early Wednesday. Temperatures will fall to the teens with wind chills at zero or below. Hopefully power crews get lights and heat back on for those still struggling with a lack of electricity.

By late Wednesday and Thursday, some models hint at another system coming here, though one key model says nothing does. But the consensus wants to put precipitation in the area in any of a variety of forms, from snow to rain and snow to plain rain. The details need to be become clearer before that one can called.

Expect many changes in the details, timing etc on that one.
