Members Of The PA Senate React To Keith Olbermann's Tweet About Penn State
By Tony Romeo
Harrisburg, Pa. (CBS) --Some members of the Pennsylvania Senate have a few choice words for EPSN personality, Keith Olbermann.
Olbermann was suspended because of a nasty Twitter comment about Penn State's annual fundraiser, "Thon," which raised over $13 million dollars for pediatric cancer.
A Penn State Alum tweeted to Olbermann the familiar Penn State chant "We Are...."
In return, Olbermann tweeted back "...pitiful."
Republican Majority Leader, Jake Corman, who represents State College, commented on the Senate floor: " How can anyone attack that organization and what they've done...I'm very proud of the culture of Penn State." He said, "I know it's been under attack a lot of years, but this is really what Penn State is all about."
Suburban Philadelphia Republican, John Rafferty, was even tougher on Olberman: "It was disgusting and appalling that someone would attack the Penn State student body."
Olbermann has since apologized.
I apologize for the PSU tweets. I was stupid and childish and way less mature than the students there who did such a great fundraising job.
