Man Fatally Shot As Deadly Violence Continues In Camden

CAMDEN, N.J. (AP) — A man was killed when gunfire erupted on a Camden street, the latest in a series of shootings in the city that have left seven people dead this month.

Camden County prosecutors say police found 34-year-old city resident Abdullah Fussell around 7 p.m. Friday in the area of Eighth and Chelton streets. They went there after getting an alert through the city's gunfire detection system.

Fussell died a short time later at a hospital. A motive for his slaying remains under investigation and no arrests have been made.

The shooting came one day after two men were found shot to death inside a Camden home. Another double homicide occurred April 4 at another city residence.

It's not clear if any of the fatal shootings that occurred this month are connected.
