Two injured after pickup truck and school bus collide in Lower Moreland Township, police say

Two injured after crash involving school bus, pickup truck in Montgomery County, Pennsylvania

Two people were injured after a pickup truck and school bus collided Thursday evening on County Line Road in Lower Moreland Township, Pennsylvania.

The crash happened around 5:30 p.m. at County Line and Buxmont roads, Lower Moreland Township police said. Some students were on the bus at the time and at least one had minor injuries, police said.

Chopper 3 was overhead as a driver was extricated from the pickup truck. The driver was transported to the hospital with injuries that did not appear to be life-threatening, officials said.

In a letter to the school community, Lower Moreland Township Schools Superintendent Dennis H. Best said the accident involved an activity bus that was completing the late run. Students were evaluated and released to their parents and guardians, Best said. 

"Please know that the safety of our students is our top priority, including when they are riding the bus to and from school each day," Best said. 

The superintendent added that counselors are available in all schools and can talk to students in need. 

County Line Road has reopened after being shut down for several hours between Pine Road and Bustleton Avenue. 

Lower Moreland police are investigating. Anyone who witnessed the collision and has not spoken to police is encouraged to call the Lower Moreland Township Police Department at 215-947-3132.
