Little Girl Who Inspired 'Hannah's Law' Passes Away

LEVITTOWN, Pa. (CBS) – The young girl who was the inspiration behind the signing of a Krabbe Disease Screening Bill, better known as "Hannah's Law," has died, according to the Hope for Hannah Facebook page.
The bill was named for Hannah Ginion, a Bristol Township, Bucks County native who battled Krabbe Disease -- a rare and deadly disorder affecting about one in every 100,000 newborns.
The legislation requires hospitals to offer screenings for Krabbe and five other diseases.
The Facebook post on Sunday read:
"Hannah was called home to be with the Angels this morning. She went peacefully.
Please keep us all in your prayers during this difficult time."
Governor Corbett signed "Hannah's Law" in October.
A candlelit vigil was held for Hannah Sunday evening. She died just a few weeks shy of her second birthday.
