Lawmakers: Subpoena Sent To Christie's Chief Of Staff Ordering Him To Appear Before Panel
TRENTON, N.J. (AP) — Gov. Chris Christie's chief of staff has been ordered to appear before a legislative panel investigating lane closures at the George Washington Bridge.
Lawmakers announced Wednesday that they have sent a subpoena to Kevin O'Dowd ordering him to appear before the panel on Monday.
The Democrat-led panel is looking into who in the Republican governor's administration was involved in shutting down traffic lanes near the bridge last September.
Lawmakers will likely ask O'Dowd about a meeting where another staff member said he, O'Dowd and Christie spoke briefly about the scandal last December.
Christie has nominated O'Dowd to become state attorney general.
