Kane Pressed On Sandusky Probe

HARRISBURG, Pa. (CBS) --- As state lawmakers began budget hearings this past week, Attorney General Kathleen Kane found herself being questioned about her probe into the Jerry Sandusky investigation.
As she appeared before the state Senate Appropriations Committee, Republican John Gordner pressed Kathleen Kane about the length of her investigation into the length of the Sandusky investigation.
"Do you expect something in the next two, four, six, eight months?" asked Gordner.
"That is the question of the day, yes," replied Kane. "Um, I really can't tell you."
Gordner followed up a moment later, asking, "Do you expect something before October?"
Kane replied, "Oh I certainly hope so, yes."
Afterward, Kane said she's not concerned about how it might look to release potentially explosive findings of an investigation deep into a gubernatorial election year. "No, I'm not concerned because anybody who knows me knows I don't play politics."
Kane's probe of the Sandusky probe is now a year old. She's cited unanticipated delays including difficulty retrieving e-mails and other records.
