Jury Selection Continues For Trial Of Montco Man Accused Of Murdering Infant And Her Grandmother

NORRISTOWN, Pa., (CBS) -- The process of picking a jury for the trial of an Upper Merion man accused of murdering a 10-month-old infant and her grandmother in their King of Prussia apartment nearly two years ago continues moving slowly in Montgomery County.
After three full days of individual questioning, nine jurors have been selected to hear the case against Raghu Yandamuri. Another panel of up to 60 potential jurors will be called to the courthouse Friday morning to fill the remaining seven slots. There will be 12 jurors and four alternates. Courtroom observers say many of the people are being dismissed because they have hardships, unable to commit to serving for the entire case. The judge told the group the trial could last as long as four weeks.
The 28-year-old Yandamuri is representing himself and if convicted of first-degree murder could face the death penalty. Prosecutors maintain he killed Saanvi Venna and her grandmom during a botched kidnapping attempt. He claims he was there but the murders were committed by two other men.
