Philadelphia Ranked As Least Healthy County In The State

PHILADELPHIA (CBS) -- Four local counties were ranked among the most healthy counties in Pennsylvania, according to new rankings.

However, Philadelphia was ranked the least healthy county.

That's according to rankings done as part of the County Health Rankings & Roadmaps program, a collaboration between the Robert Wood Johnson Foundation and the University of Wisconsin Population Health Institute.

Chester County was named the healthiest county in the state, taking the top spot at No. 1. Montgomery County was ranked third, Bucks County placed sixth, and Lancaster County was ranked ninth.

Delaware County placed at 35th, and Philadelphia came in last place, at No. 67.

The rankings are based on several factors including quality of life and social and economic factors.

In New Jersey, Hunterdon County is the healthiest, according to the rankings. Cumberland County finished at the bottom of the rankings at No. 21.

In Delaware, Sussex County was ranked at No. 1.
