Group Of Frank Rizzo Supporters Suing Philadelphia To Get Controversial Statue
PHILADELPHIA (CBS) -- The battle over the controversial Frank Rizzo statue is now heading to court. The statue of the former Philadelphia mayor and police commissioner was removed from Thomas Paine Plaza last month during protests over police brutality.
Now, a group of Rizzo supporters is suing the city so they can get the statue.
They say the city violated an agreement by removing it from public display.
The monument is currently being held in storage.
