Girlfriend Charged With Saturday's Murder Of Darby Borough Police Officer

DARBY BOROUGH, Pa. (CBS) -- Police say the girlfriend of a Darby Borough police officer used his service weapon to kill him in his Delaware County home over the weekend.
Now, she is facing first-degree murder charges.
According to investigators, 27-year-old Tyaina Finch shot and killed Darby Borough police officer Mark Hudson on Saturday. One theory is that he was trying to end what had been an abusive, contentious relationship.
Darby Township police handled the investigation. Township police chief Leonard McDevitt says that from the start, Finch was the main suspect:
"There were only two people in the home when the incident occurred -- Officer Hudson and a girlfriend of his. She had just come back into Officer Hudson's life, we believe like a week ago, before this incident happened."
The two had a history of domestic abuse. Before the murder charges were filed, Finch was being held on charges stemming from an incident last summer in which, police say, she had pulled a knife and threatened Hudson's life.
Police say Hudson got a protection-from-abuse order against Finch in January, but they think she may have been threatening his job if he didn't cooperate with her. They believe he had invited Finch to his house on Saturday -- it's not clear why -- but they note that he had talked with other officers who were advising him to leave her.
Funeral arrangements were being finalized today.
