TRENTON, N.J. (AP) — Gas prices ticked upward again in New Jersey and around the nation, but analysts don't expect gasoline to become as expensive as it was last summer. AAA Mid-Atlantic says the average price of a gallon of regular gas in New Jersey on Friday was $2.02, up a penny from a week ago.

The national average price for a gallon of regular gasoline was $1.97, an increase of 3 cents in the last week.

Analysts say drivers can expect to see higher pump prices as the summer goes on, but AAA doesn't expect the summer average to be as expensive as it was last summer.
