Flyers Get First Win Of Year, 6-5 Against Stars In Ot

DALLAS (AP) — Claude Giroux scored a power-play goal at 2:49 of overtime to lift the Philadelphia Flyers to a 6-5 victory over the Dallas Stars on Saturday night.

Sean Couturier, Brayden Schenn, Andrew MacDonald, Jakub Voracek and Michael Raffl scored in regulation for the Flyers. Giroux's game-winner came 40 seconds after Dallas' Trevor Daley was penalized for hooking, and it was the Flyers' third power-play goal in the game.

Daley scored twice, Jason Spezza had a goal and three assists, Eric Cole and Jamie Benn also scored and Tyler Seguin had four assists for the Stars. Kari Lehtonen made 30 saves while dropping to 0-11-2 in his career against the Flyers.

The Stars led 4-2 heading to the third period, before MacDonald and Voracek scored to tie it with 5:46 left in regulation. Spezza regained Dallas' lead 40 seconds later, but Raffl tied it again with 3:53 remaining.
