Egg Harbor Township Police Mourn The Death Of Beloved K-9

PHILADELPHIA (CBS) – The Egg Harbor Township Police Department is mourning the death of one of their own.

Officers announced on Monday, the passing of K-9 Axl. According to the department's Facebook post, Axl was a 10-year-old Belgium Malinois, who suffered from a degenerative bone disease that led to his death.

A dedicated member of the force, Axl served the department and community with distinction alongside his partner Officer Kenneth Marchelle.

So far the Facebook post honoring Axl has gone viral. Receiving more than two hundred likes and more than 60 comments, it is clear that Axl will be greatly missed by many.
