Driver Sought In Illegal Dumping Of Containers In Camden County

GLOUCESTER TOWNSHIP, N.J. (CBS) -- Police in one South Jersey town are searching for the driver responsible for an illegal dumping of containers that left quite a mess.
Well over a hundred cans of ink are scattered in a wooded area behind the Marge Martin Sports Complex in Gloucester Township, New Jersey. Police say it's a case of illegal dumping.
The illegal dumping happened between March 21st and March 26th in the wooded area of the Lakeland section of Gloucester Township near the model airplane field.
Investigators say what they believe to be the suspect's vehicle entered and left the area at a high rate of speed on the dirt road portion of Collier Drive twice in one day on March 24th at 12:30 p.m. and again at 1:45 p.m.
The majority of the containers were labeled "Superior Printing Inks" and all the containers appeared to be older as if they were in storage for many years.
"To my knowledge, it's printer's ink; it's all different colors, it comes in small cans that printers use for printing machines and books," says Captain Jeff Weiserth, of the Gloucester Township Police Department.
The vehicle entered the area both times with trash cans in the bed standing in the upward position, and left both times with those same cans down on their sides.
The township's "Graffiti Cameras" captured photos of the vehicle, which is described as a white Ford F-250, short bed, with New Jersey Tags and a multi ball "Draw-Tite" trailer hitch. These cameras have helped lead to arrests previously for vandalism cases; now, police are hoping it will help catch the illegal dumping suspect.
"Just because it's public property doesn't give someone the right to go dumping their trash and debris back in there," Capt. Weiserth says.
