Delco SPCA Partners With Local Stage Company To Pitch Pet Adoptions
By John McDevitt
DREXEL HILL, Pa. (CBS) -- "If I could walk with the animals, talk with the animals, grunt and squeak with the animals...."
Animal advocates are getting creative, taking to the stage as they spread the message to adopt rather than shop for a family pet.
Representatives of the Delaware County SPCA will be making their own brief presentation to the audience before the Wednesday morning performance of "Doctor Dolittle Jr.," produced by the Upper Darby Summer Stage., in Drexel Hill, Pa.
Animals from the Delco SPCA will be there, too: dogs, puppies, cats, and kitties looking for a home.
" We want to just spread the awareness of treating animals with kindness about adoption and animal welfare, and we really are delighted that Upper Darby Summer Stage has invited us to do that," says Justina Calgiano, director of community relations at the Delaware County SPCA.
"Doctor Dolittle Jr." runs Wednesday through Friday at the Upper Darby Summer Stage. For more information go to udpac.org or delcospca.org.
