Council Rock H.S. Students Advancing Space Exploration With Science Experiments
By Kim Glovas
HOLLAND, Pa. (CBS) -- A group of Bucks County high school students is making a contribution to the International Space Station with a project coming out of Council Rock High School South.
The students are part of the "Council Rock United with NASA to Create Hardware" program, or "CRUNCH."
Sam Sadow, a senior, says the group picked up the acronym bug and named their project "VIBE," for Vibration Isolation Box Experiment. And, he notes, the name explains the experiment:
"While the outer box is getting the full vibrations of everything around it, the inner box is isolated and only receiving a fraction of the vibrations. So the way we tested that is we have some vibration sensors inside the inner box and then some outside the outer box."

The goal of the experiment was to get an egg to the International Space Station without cracking, but for now that will have to be left to the next team of intrepid future aerospace engineers. This bunch is graduating, and all will be pursuing science majors.
