Coronavirus Latest: Drivers In NJ, Around Country Still Seeing Gas Prices Drop Amid COVID-19 Outbreak

TRENTON, N.J. (AP) — Drivers in New Jersey and across the nation are still seeing plummeting gas prices amid the coronavirus outbreak — and analysts expect that to continue. AAA Mid-Atlantic says the average price of a gallon of regular gas in New Jersey on Friday was $2.31, down eight cents from a week ago.
Drivers were paying $2.61 a gallon a year ago at this time.
The national average gas price Friday was $2.17, down from $2.30 a week ago. A year ago, motorists were paying $2.58 a gallon.
Analysts expect the downward trend to continue and say the national average is likely to hit $2 per gallon before the end of the month.
