Cops: Man Exposed Himself To Female Jogger In Delaware

WILMINGTON, Del. (CBS) -- Police in Delaware are searching for a man who is accused of exposing himself to a jogger this past weekend.

The alleged incident happened at about 3:30 p.m. Saturday in the Brandywine Park on North Park Drive in Wilmington.

According to investigators, a 55-year-old female was jogging in the park when she observed the suspect standing on the trail. The female jogger told police the suspect exposed his genitals to the victim as she ran by him.

The victim took a photograph of the suspect and then contacted police as the suspect fled.

"Our suspect was standing on pathway and actually exposed himself to her. She was smart enough to stop and take a picture of him after he had covered up and sent that image into the police department," Corporal Mark Ivey of Wilmington Police said.

Investigators believe this is the same suspect from previous indecent exposure incidents reported last summer in the Brandywine Park.

"One of the most apparent things or obvious things is that he's a runner. He's got the running shorts, the matching shorts with the shoes. If you look at his build he looks like a runner so what we're thinking that maybe someone in the running community might know him," Ivey said.

"It's kind of crazy because I bring my twins," parent Amanda Pabon said.

"Normally I do feel safe. Obviously there's a lot of people out and about. It's really uncomfortable to know," runner Sarah Campbell said.

The park trails are filled with runners. Campbell lives nearby and runs here at least twice a week, but this is the last time she says she'll be running alone.

"I would want to come with a friend or someone else from now on just to be safe," she said.

The suspect is described as a white male in his early 30s with black curly hair. He was wearing a blue sweatshirt, dark running shorts with white and blue stripes and bright blue running shoes.
