Christie Making Final Stop In Maine

PORTLAND, Maine (AP) — New Jersey Gov. Chris Christie is hoping to give Republican Gov. Paul LePage a final boost in the tight three-man governor's race.

The chairman of the Republican Governors Association will rally voters for LePage at the Elks Lodge in Portland Monday evening.

Christie will urge Republicans to get to the polls Tuesday to help LePage over the finish line in the race with Democrat Mike Michaud and independent Eliot Cutler.

At a LePage fundraiser in Bangor last week, Christie called on supporters to make the governor's re-election their "mission" until Election Day.

The Maine event is the RGA chairman's last campaign stop before Election Day. Earlier Monday, he'll be helping Republicans in Rhode Island, New Hampshire and Connecticut.

The RGA has poured more than $4 million into LePage's re-election bid.
