Bucks Man Gets Decades in Prison For Shooting Strip Club Workers, Firing at Cops

HORSHAM, Pa. (CBS) -- A Warrington, Pa. man was sentenced today to a long stretch behind bars for shooting up a Horsham strip club in 2013, then firing shots at police while leading them on a car chase.

Joseph Thiers, 57, was sentenced to 22 to 44 years in state prison.  He pleaded guilty earlier this year to four counts of aggravated assault: two counts from the shots he fired inside the strip club, Double Visions in Horsham, and two from shots he fired at police during a car chase.

In October 2013, Thiers was thrown out of the strip club.  About 15 minutes later he came back in, through an employee entrance.  Witnesses say he fired two shots at two bar employees, hitting one in the chest, the other in the back.

Both men were hospitalized but survived their wounds.

Thiers drove off in his pickup truck, leading police on a chase to a driveway in Warrington (Bucks County).  Thiers got out of his car, hid behind a tree, and fired two shots at police before being taken into custody.
