PHILADLEPHIA (CBS) – Broadway Philadelphia presents "Bullets Over Broadway" starting October 27 at the Academy of Music.
Frances Egler, director of Broadway Philadelphia programming, gives a preview.
"It's a great song filled romp, basically through the 20s. It's a story of a young writer who wants to get his dream play on Broadway and
the only way to do that, his agent finds, is to get the backing of a notorious gangster. The gangster's one condition is that his completely talent-less girlfriend be the lead."
Frances offers more background about the show saying,"It's based on the Academy Award winning comedy that Woody Allen directed and wrote several years ago and it features some fantastic choreography based on the original Broadway choreography, brought to us by Susan Stroman. A lot of fun music from the times, it's sort of a jukebox musical of the jazz age."
