Boil Water Advisory Lifted For Trenton

TRENTON, N.J. (CBS) -- Officials in Trenton say a boil water advisory issued for parts of the city has been lifted.

The affected areas extended into the city from the Delaware River to Prospect Street and Bellevue Avenue to Prospect Street to Pennington Avenue to Perry Street to S. Clinton Avenue to Liberty Street to Duck Island.

"On Monday evening, we had a technical issue at the city's water treatment plant that caused chlorine levels to temporarily drop," said Trenton Mayor Eric E. Jackson in a statement. "Chlorine is used to help purify drinking water. Therefore, we advise those impacted to boil tap water for at least one minute until further notice."

If you have questions on the boil water advisory, call Trenton Water Works at 609-989-3208.
