Atlantic City-Bound Plane Diverted To Fort Lauderdale After Lightning Strike

FORT LAUDERDALE, Fla., (CBS)An Atlantic-City bound flight was diverted to Fort Lauderdale, Florida after a lightning strike Tuesday, according to airline officials.

The flight was headed from Tampa, Florida to Atlantic City, New Jersey when airline officials say there was a lightning strike.

According to airline officials, the plane was diverted to Fort Lauderdale.

Airline officials say the plane responded fine after the lightning strike. They said at no point was any of the crew or passengers safety compromised.

The passengers have been placed on another plane for the rest of the trip.

Officials say maintenance crews are inspecting the plane for any possible damage.
