Area Irish Pubs Pouring On The Hospitality For St. Patrick's Day

PHILADELPHIA (CBS) -- St. Patrick's Day was being celebrated in high style today at many Irish pubs in and around Philadelphia.
And likely none have been doing it as long as one pub in center city. McGillin's Olde Ale House, on Drury Street, just off 13th and Chestnut, has been opening its door since 1860.
On St. Patrick's Day, the crowd starts pouring in early.
Owner Chris Mullin says there's a full menu on tap, too.
"We've got corned beef and cabbage, Irish stew, green beer, lots of Irsh car bombs (Guinness plus a shot of Jameson whiskey), and all kinds of goodies for the Irish people," he tells KYW Newsradio.
...whether they are Irish all the time, or just for the day.
One patron, Peter (second from right in photo, wearing white cap), says he and his friends have been coming to McGillin's for a few years.
"It's awesome," he said today. "It's an old Irish bar. It's our first stop -- we're doing our own pub crawl and this is stop number one."
And he says they are walking, or taking taxis, then taking a train home later on.
