Another Day Of Below Average Temps Before A Brief Warm-up

By Geoff Bansen

PHILADELPHIA (CBS) -- If you looked at the radar this morning, you may have been a little unnerved to see some white and pink spots on the screen. Fear not; a weak disturbance that previously dumped snow on the Midwest is fizzling out as it runs into high pressure over the Northeast.

Clouds will give way to some sun today, but it will be yet another day below average in terms of temperature, with a high of 46 expected for Philadelphia. The average high for this time of year is 55 degrees. Any leftover clouds will clear tonight, and nighttime lows will reach the freezing mark for the 5th time in the last week. Wednesday will start off with sunshine, but a warm front will bring clouds by the afternoon and a few showers by the evening, especially in northern sections.

Once the front passes, temperatures will rise overnight and then approach 70 degrees on Thursday. Thursday will be cloudy with showers as a cold front approaches from the west. It will bring some heavier rain Thursday night into early Friday morning, and even a few thunderstorms.

Cooler weather will return in its wake, dropping temps well below average for the weekend once again.
