Analysis: Hillary Clinton 'The Most Qualified Candidate We Have Ever Had'
PHILADELPHIA (CBS) -- Dr. Mary Ellen Balchunis, Associate Professor of Political Science at La Salle Universtiy, reviewed Hillary Clinton's announcement of her candidacy for President and gave the former First Lady, Senator, and Secretary of State high marks.
Balchunis told Gary R'Nel on Talk Radio 1210 WPHT, that Clinton took great care in the video announcing her run to connect with her voter base.
"I watched it several times. About the third time, I really got what she was doing. She gets criticized for being part of a dynasty, although, that's not even true because she's not born into dynasty, she's married to a President. Be that as it may, what she was trying to do with all those pictures, those people, was tell people what messages, what issues, she's going to be supporting: education, small business, job retraining, helping people with their retirement, preserving Medicare and social security. They were subtle messages but I think people got it."

She believes Clinton is trying to break away from her portrayals in the media and recapture the narrative of her career.
"What she was trying to do was show people that she isn't this brass person that she's getting labelled to be. I thought she was actually very humble, saying that she wants to earn our support, that the deck is stacked against the middle class and she wants to be their champion. She wants to help them. I thought it was very smart."
Balchunis stated that her credentials are unmatched compared to anyone else who has ever sought the office of the Presidency.
"She is the most qualified candidate we have ever had. All of the domestic experience, experience in the Congress and in the Senate and foreign affairs."
