An Online Outpouring Of Support For Brussels
By Melony Roy
PHILADELPHIA (CBS) -- In the wake of the Brussels attack, a hashtag is trending to show support for the victims.
The "Je Suis" hashtag has reappeared. Following the explosions that rocked Brussels Tuesday morning, people have been using the hashtag #JeSuisBruxelles to show solidarity with Belgium.
Originally in response to the terrorist attacks on the French satirical newspaper Charlie Hedbo as #JeSuisCharlie, the phrase has been invoked since then as a show of support to victims of attacks all over the world.
Along with cartoons of the Parisian flag hugging a crying Belgium flag, words of hope and messages of support have spread quickly through Twitter and Instagram.
#Brussels, #prayforpeace, and #prayersforbrussels are also trending.
