An Effort To Preserve Donald Trump's History In Atlantic City

by KYW's David Madden

EGG HARBOR TOWNSHIP, NJ (CBS) -- With Donald Trump a month and a half away from taking the oath of office as America's 45th President, there's now an effort in Atlantic City to preserve and document the billionaire's role in the town.

Good and bad.

Some have suggested this is a plan to build a Trump Museum. Not necessarily.

"He's had a very complex relationship to Atlantic City and we forget about that relationship and history at our own peril," Stockton University Professor Bob Blaskiewicz told KYW Newsradio.

Blaskiewicz and others hope to get artifacts and business records of the Trump years together, along with stories from those who worked for him. What happens to that material depends, in large part, on how much they gather and where those materials might lead.

"It could be anything from an academic publication, honestly, up to an exhibit or to a museum," he said.

There are some places in Atlantic City where its history is on display. This could, at some point, be combined with an ongoing effort.

Blankiewicz can be reached on Twitter @RJBlaskiewicz.
