$100K Grant Kicks Off Planning Process To Improve Kensington

by Andrew Kramer

PHILADELPHIA (CBS) -- A planning process to create new opportunities in a Philadelphia neighborhood kicked off Monday. A $100,000 grant was presented to help get the effort going.

Denise McGregor Armbrister and the Wells Fargo Regional Foundation presented the check to the Impact Services Corporation.

"A revitalization plan will be an end product," said Armbrister.

Casey O'Donell and Impact Services will now work with neighbors to try to make that happen.

"The end goal is opportunity for the neighbors here to have stability, independence, emotional safety, physical safety, economic opportunity for the neighborhood, and also to create a different narrative about Kensington," said O'Donell

He plans to use the money from the grant to hire experts who can help put their plan in motion.
