1 Suspect Still Sought In Robbery, Shooting Outside Bustleton Gun Shop

PHILADELPHIA (CBS) — Police say a 67-year-old man is hospitalized following a robbery and shooting outside a gun shop in Northeast Philadelphia Thursday night, and one of the suspects is still on the loose.

It happened around 8:30 p.m. outside the Delaware Valley Sports Center in the unit block of Geiger Road in the city's Bustleton neighborhood.

According to police, the victim and his 68-year-old friend were both customers and leaving the gun range when a man and a woman, both armed with guns, approached them and announced a robbery.

Police say the female suspect turned herself in around 7:30 p.m. Friday. The male suspect is still being sought.

Police say both of the victims complied and gave up their wallets, cell phones, money and their guns, but police say the suspects still turned violent.

"For some reason, after the robbery, our male perpetrator fired one shot, striking our 67-year-old victim in his groin and he's presently in critical condition. The suspects, male and female, then fled the scene in a dark-colored vehicle with dark-tinted windows. So now these two perpetrators, a male and female, who initially both were armed with guns, stole an additional seven guns," Chief Inspector Scott Small of Philadelphia Police said.

The victim underwent surgery Thursday night and is listed in critical condition.

Sources say there was a robbery outside a gun range at 10th and Spring Garden Streets Wednesday. However, there is no word if the incidents are connected.

Police say they are now investigating a vehicle they think may be involved in both robberies.
