Prison cell for woman who stole cell phones

WOODBURY, N.J. -- A Philadelphia woman convicted of stealing more than $35,000 worth of cell phones from two stores in New Jersey is headed to prison.

Fatima Aviles received a three-year sentence on Friday and was also ordered to pay restitution. The 27-year-old was convicted in June on burglary and theft charges.

Gloucester County prosecutors have said Aviles used a former employee's access card to enter two Verizon stores in Glassboro and Washington Township in 2013. That person wasn't charged.

They say phones valued at $35,067 were stolen during three burglaries. None of the phones was recovered.
