Another Power Outage Leaves Long Beach Residents In Sweltering Heat
LONG BEACH (CBSLA.com) — Power has been restored to most of the residents in Long Beach affected by the latest in a series of outages to hit the coastal community.
It was long, sweltering night for approximately 1,400 customers affected, CBS2's Kara Finnstrom reports.
"It was 95 [degrees] at six in the afternoon," a man said. "And after work we're trying to get some food in us, it's dinner time, and the power went out. It just complicated things."
The outage was contained to the area near West Willow Street and Santa Fe Avenue.
The mayor of Long Beach expressed his frustration at the many outages that have plagued this community.

SoCal Edison said they hoped to have power restored to all residents by 7 a.m. but that deadline passed with hundreds still waiting for their appliances to turn back on.
The company said the goal is to restore power before temperatures pick up amid the latest triple-digit heat wave to hit the Southland.
